About Me

Born: 1992, Cobar, NSW Australia

Childhood: I have very fond memories of my childhood :) Since I was one year old, I grew up in Moree, a small rural town in NSW, well-known for it's natural Artesian Springs.

As part of the neighbourhood gang, with my four younger siblings and friends, we'd scooter, rollerblade and ride our bikes around Amaroo, creating mischief as we climbed the dirt piles on the vacant block near our house, played in the park and tried to win all the levels of Diddy Kong Racing on Nintendo 64.

At night we'd play spotlight in our street. I always felt so free... running around on the bichumen road with bare feet in summer. It was the best :)

Teen years: Just before I started highschool, my family of seven moved to a 27 acre property on the Gwydir River in Yarraman, just a couple of minutes North of Moree. This was when I really started to get into art and photography. Kayaking, in Summer, was my thing. I'd often paddle hard upstream to the Boolooroo weir and just drift down, basking in God's beautiful creation - listening to all the birds and watching the lizards (and occasional snakes) sunbake on the bank. Sometimes I even tried catching huge fish (mainly carp) in the shallows with my bare hands... it never worked, but it was still fun :)

Now: I have just completed my Bachelor of Visual Arts at Southern Cross University, Lismore, majoring in 3D (sculptural) Studies. Between church life, student learning support officering and being married to my handsome husband Luke, I'm still eagerly practicing and selling wood sculpture in Lismore, Moree and Inverell - Visit galleries listed on the home page, or email me from the contact page if you're interested in buying direct ;)

It was also in highschool when God really opened my eyes to the truth of my need for salvation. I thank Him every day. With all the blessings of such an easy-going life, I can now see how I was caught up in thinking that I didn't need anything else. But we all do. I learnt that this life wasn't going to last, and that we need to look at our lives in perspective of eternity. This is what I try to share through my day-to-day life and work as an artist.
